The teardrop cheek is unique that for a short shank, it has quite a bit of weight so the horse carries it well and provides good balance. The teardrop shape is designed to provide slight rein slide which provides the horse with a pre-signal before engaging the mouthpiece. 4-1/2" mouthpiece with a 1" port & 4-3/4" teardrop shanks.
